Julie Gill Headshot.jpg

About Julie, studio owner & assistant for the intensive

Julie took her first ballet class at the age of 17, having had no prior dancing experience. She was not athletic or graceful in the slightest, including being unable to touch her toes, or walk up stairs without tripping. Regardless, ballet captured her imagination immediately. She earned a dance minor from Pace University, trained in both youth summer intensive programs and adult programs, and studied privately for over a decade.

She became a teacher when her private coach fell ill and passed her private coaching business along to Julie. Owning, creating, and instructing at Broche Ballet is a dream-come-true for her, and an incredible privilege to be able create a place for adults to learn ballet.

What is your hardest step that you're working on mastering? What is still a bit tricky for you?
After clicking "Submit", we'd love to see a recent photo or video of you dancing. It doesn't need to be fancy, we just want to see what you know! *
The best would be a video of a waltz with a pirouette (e.g. 4 balances, a tombe pas de bourre, and a pirouette from 4th position). But, if you don't have a way to take a video, a couple of pictures of arabesque and retire would be great!
